V International Zhautykov Olympiad opens in Almaty

ALMATY. January 15. KAZINFROM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Equipage of Kazakhstan?s schools interactive technique has started since 2006. Today 3 067 schools have interactive equipment. The school computerization has started in Kazakhstan in the 1990s and today it is the first among the CIS countries that has completed this process. All these measures are directed on increase of competitiveness of the national education. Kazakh Vice Minister of Science and Education Kulyash Shamshidinova has informed about it today in Almaty at the opening ceremony of the V International Zhautykov Olympiad on Math, Physics and Informatics.
The International Zhautykov Olympiad is held under the aegis of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science with support of Almaty akimat, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University including Olympiad?s general partner ? ?RPHMS Graduates Fund? Public Fund and Olympiad?s general sponsors as ?ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc? and ?Microsoft Kazakhstan?.
K. Shamshidinova noted that in five years the Zhautykov Olympiad became a traditional and international event. Today Kazakhstan prepares for the World Mathematics Olympiad of 2010 in Astana in which the school students from 110 countries will take part.
She reminded that 90 new schools opened in 2008, and 200 schools were expected to be built by 2011. ?Every year 3 000 young hopefuls have an opportunity to study on the Presidential Scholarship ?Bolashak? in 100 best universities of the world?, the Vice Minister emphasized.
Jury Chairman, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Bakytzhan Zhumagulov wished all participants success in that difficult competition.
