Uzbekistan ramps up car imports by 21%

In January-August 2024, Uzbekistan imported 48,055 cars worth $912 million tenge. This is 21% more (+8,352 cars), compared to the same period in 2023, Kazinform News Agency reports.
China remains a leader in car sales to Uzbekistan with more than 38,000 cars supplied to the Central Asian country within eight months. Then comes South Korea with 8,729 cars.
The U.S. is the third major exporter of cars to Uzbekistan - 622. Significant number of cars were delivered from Japan - 139, and from Germany - 104.
In 10 months of 2023, Uzbekistan's car imports rose by sixfold.
