Uzbekistan and South Korea launch joint project amounting to over USD 2.6 bln - I.Karimov
On August 23 South Korea's President Lee Myung-bak arrived in Tashkent for a two-day state visit. During the first day of the visit there were held negotiations with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in narrow and enlarged format.
Following the negotiations seven bilateral documents were signed - contracts on engineering, equipment supply and construction of Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex jointly with Korean companies GS Engineering & Construction, Samsung Engineering, Hyundai Engineering and KOGAS.
The Uzbek President noted that during the visit it is suggested a launch of the Uzbek-Korean project on creation of Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex (over USD 2.6 bln).
Moreover, it is planned that during the two days the South Korean delegation will ink more than 23 bilateral documents between the countries. On Wednesday, a business forum with participation of business circles of Uzbekistan and Korea will be carried out.
President of South Korea will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on August 24-25.
