Uzbek Embassy in RK celebrates 18th anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan and 2200th anniversary of Tashkent

ALMATY. September 28. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ - The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an official reception to mark the 18th anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan and the 2200th anniversary of Tashkent city in Almaty on Saturday.

Welcoming the guests Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Farrukh Tursunov noted that thousand-year history of the country had been restored; religion and national values had been revived due to the independence. "The model of reforms adopted and implemented at present by the Uzbek leadership fully meets the interests of the nation and is directed on building a new society", he said. 

This year celebration of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan coincides with one more significant date - the 2200th anniversary of Tashkent. According to the Ambassador, the city has always been a major socio-political, economic, scientific and cultural center that has made a tremendous contribution to the world civilization. "Coincidence of these two holidays is deeply symbolic, because the history and present-day capital and the country are closely interrelated" - Tursunov said.

A colorful concert with the participation of Uzbek artists took place within the event. "Yalla" group with its undisputed leader Farrukh Zakirov presented their hits.
