USD 3 bln be channeled for updating of 3 Kazakh refineries

ASTANA. May 18. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ "Modernization of three largest refineries by 2015 will let achieve flow of output meeting Euro-5 standards," Vice Premier - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aset Issekeshev told at today's plenary meeting of the Foreign Investors' Council chaired by the President.
"The Government and Ministry of Oil and Gas are engaged in realizing a modernization program of three refineries until 2015. USD 3 bln will be invested. It will let process above 17 mln tons of oil per year, and turn out products meeting Euro-5 standards," Issekeshev noted.
Samruk-Kazyna and KazMunayGaz have already proceeded to realization of the project on updating the Atyrau refinery.
