USA not to help Ukraine financially with its gas problems

WASHINGTON, June 23. KAZINFORM - The United States does not plan financial aid to Ukraine for settling its gas problems, U.S. Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar said on Tuesday, Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
The envoy said the USA wants to help Ukraine with which it has strong relations. However, this does not include financial assistance. Financial issues are prerogative of the European Union, international financial institutions and Russia, he told a briefing for foreign reporters here.
According to Morningstar, Washington can expand assistance on some matters related to reforms in Ukraine's gas sector. He said the USA has programs on that, which can be implemented with the help of American governmental agencies.
