US: Mideast peace talks seek 'two states'

DAMASCUS. September 15. KAZINFORM US Middle East peace envoy George Mitchell will arrive in Damascus on Thursday for a one-day visit to provide the Syrian Leadership with an overview on the two rounds of direct negotiations between the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and Israel, the Syrian Al Watan news website reported Tuesday; Kazinform refers to China Daily.
Senator Mitchell will also meet journalists to explain the US vision over the direct PNA-Israeli talks and the US efforts to push the Middle East peace process forward.
The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu started Tuesday the second round of negotiations in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh; Kazinform cites China Daily.
