US embassy in Astana marks Earth Day

ASTANA. April 22. KAZINFORM On April 22 volunteers from the U.S. Embassy in Astana marked Earth Day by planting trees provided by the Akimat of Astana.
Tree planting has become an Earth Day tradition between the Akimat and the Embassy. The embassy employees appreciate the opportunity to express their gratitude to the city of Astana and demonstrate their commitment to improve the community where they live.
Additionally, the students of the Quality Schools International cleaned up an assigned area near the Kazakh-Turkish School. This location was also provided by the Akimat of Astana.
Also on April 22 Ambassador Ordway and Dmitriy Kolmykov, Director of the Karaganda Eco-Museum, held a discussion at the American Corner in the National Academy Library in Astana to commemorate Earth Day; Kazinform has learnt from the US Embassy's press service.
