US confirms arrest of a family with adopted Ukrainian kids -Foreign Ministry

This was said at a briefing in Kiev on Tuesday by the director of the Information Policy Department under Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebiynis, reports Ukrinform.

"The American side has confirmed the arrest of Lev Dziuba and his sisters Alina Dziuba and Natalia Mellon, who lived with adopted children in one house," said Perebiynis.

According to the diplomat, the adopted children were placed under the care of social services, the state of Georgia, where they receive all necessary assistance.

"No damage or injuries in children have been identified. There is no threat to their life and health," he said. Another child of the family - Yuriy Dziuba - is with his grandmother at a different address.

In order to determine the health and conditions of stay of children under the supervision of social services, as well as the living conditions of Yuriy Dziuba in Georgia has been sent a consular officer of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States. Also, as added by Perebiynis, the issue will be raised during a meeting with representatives of the Embassy with the leadership of the U.S. State Department.

As reported on Monday, a number of media released information about the ill-treatment of adopted children from Ukraine in the United States. It has been informed that in the U.S. state of Georgia were apprehemded a 37-year-old Lev Dziuba and his sisters - a 21-year-old Alina Dziuba and a 26-year-old Natalia Mellon - on charges of abusing three adopted children from Ukraine: an eight-year girl and boys of 10 and 15 years old.
