Ural-Caspian Basin Council held session in Atyrau

ATYRAU. September 28. KAZINFORM. /Andrei Sokolov/ The Ural-Caspian Basin Council has held a sitting in Atyrau.
Specialists of all four regions of western Kazakhstan took part in the meeting. They discussed the issues of equal water consumption allowing at the same time to preserve farmland, industry and environment in the region. To tackle the problem of water deficiency it was decided to develop a program of integrated management and protection of water resources in western Kazakhstan.
The Ural-Caspian Basin Council was established two years ago. It consists of the representatives of state bodies, large water-users and NGOs.
