UNWTO approves Kazakhstan's tourist industry development concept

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)Taleb Rifai approved the draft tourist industry development concept of Kazakhstan, presented at the FITUR exhibition in Madrid, the Kazakh Tourism Industry's press service said.

He also confirmed his participation in the Astana Economic Forum this May. As earlier reported, the international tourist exhibition took place in Madrid on January 22-26. It was the first world's largest tourist event in 2014. Delegations from Astana and Almaty cities, Almaty, Zhambyl, Mangystau and South Kazakhstan regions featured there their tourist opportunities. This year Kazakhstan's stand aroused great interest among the visitors, European and Asian tour operators, hotel business reps. Besides, Kazakhstan held there the EXPO 2017 presentation. Later the Kazakh delegation met with Industry, Energy and Tourism Minister of Spain Jose Manuel Soria. The Spanish Minister expressed readiness to visit Kazakhstan and debate bilateral cooperation issues.
