University of Cambridge, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools implement 2 projects

"We have two big projects that we are working on. They are both very closely related to each other. One if the integrated program of development and the other is the centers of excellence," Tristian Stobie said.

According to him, with the integrated program of development the University is helping the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools develop their curriculum and assessment practices. "The experience we have is working internationally with different ministries of education around the world. What we are trying to do is bring the best practice that we have learned to the situation here in Kazakhstan," T.Stobie noted.

Besides, the center of excellence project is being run by the faculty of education at the University of Cambridge. It supports developing teacher training surround the whole of Kazakhstan because it focuses on developing teaching strategies, teaching methodologies and understanding of learning and teaching.

"Kazakhstan is spending so much efforts on trying to develop its education system and it is a real honor for us to be able to work with partners here in Kazakhstan on such an exciting undertaking," Tristian Stobie said
