Unique moment for strengthening U.S.-Kazakh strategic partnership - Saudabayev

ASTANA. February 4. KAZINFORM Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev delivered a speech before the representatives of the U.S. President's Administration, Congress, businessmen, analysts and journalists in the Atlantic Council on Wednesday February 4. The speech outlined Kazakhstan's approaches to the global and regional problems including nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons, energy and food security and stabilization of Afghanistan, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informs.

Saudabayev also voiced Kazakhstan's priorities of its chairmanship in the Organization as well as major directions of development of the Kazakh-U.S. strategic partnership.

Within this event K. Saudabayev held meetings with the participants of the discussion in the Atlantic Council including its Chairman, ex-senator Chuck Hagel, patriarchs of the U.S. foreign policy, former Presidential Advisors for Security Brent Scowcroft and Z. Bzezhinsky. The parties stated uniqueness of the current moment for further boosting Astana-Washington wide cooperation.

The same day K. Saudabayev met with Chief of the U.S. Peace Corps A. Williams, heads of large American energy companies working in Kazakhstan.

Today K. Saudabayev plans to meet with Secretary of State of the U.S.A. H. Clinton and other members of the U.S. Presidential Administration.
