UNIDO to examine main industrial cooperation areas in EEU

The relevant agreement was reached at the meeting between EEC Member (Minister) for Industry and Agriculture Sergei Sidorsky and UNIDO Director General Li Yong, BelTA learnt from the EEC press service.
The parties discussed the implementation of the EEC-UNIDO statement on cooperation signed in October 2014. Sergei Sidorsky updated the UNIDO Director General on the development of the coordinated industrial policy in the EEU and the preparation of the EEU mid-term strategic document in industry. "The document, basing on the provisions of the EEU agreement of 29 May 2014, will lay the fundamentals of industrial cooperation for the EEU member states and determine the ways to reach the goals of the EEU industrial policy," the minister said.
According to Mr Li Yong, the EEU member states has well-developed industrial complexes and expressed hope for further strengthening of mutual relations for the implementation of practical projects of UNIDO and EEC in the EEU member states.
