UNHCR delegation visited Astana

ASTANA. July 19. KAZINFORM The delegation of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees headed by Volker Türk, Director of the Division of International Protection paid a working visit to Astana on July 13-14; the Kazakh MFA's press service told Kazinform.
The delegation visited the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Justice Ministry, Internal Affairs Ministry, General Prosecutor's Office and Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The issues of bilateral and regional cooperation on rendering aid and international protection to refugees were discussed.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees welcomed Kazakhstan's law "On refugees". The sides agreed to continue close cooperation. The delegation expressed appreciation to Kazakhstan for transparency and constructive cooperation.
