UN Under-Secretary General thanked Kazakhstan for building 'green bridges' between Europe and Asia

Under-Secretary General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Noeleen Heyzer has said it at a briefing within the framework of the IV Ministerial Conference on Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific Kazakhstan.

"I am grateful to the Republic of Kazakhstan for holding the Conference and support of Astana Green Bridge Initiative, which is a joint attempt to unite Europe and Asia-Pacific region in the issues regarding environmental sustainability in these regions. This initiative is the first effort in building bridges between Europe and Asia. I am glad that Kazakhstan heads this movement", Noeleen Heyzer emphasized.

The UN Under-Secretary General noted excellent organization of the Conference.
