UN Sec-Gen calls on religious leaders to unite in face of global threats
"I am pleased to address to the participants of the Fourth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. I believe that Kazakhstan gathers together all these groups to ensure a constructive dialogue. We live in challenging times - poverty, hunger, diseases, conflicts and other global threats require an international response. As religious leaders, you can help solve these problems through the "heart to heart" exchange with people of your societies. We can unite to show the strength in diversity, regardless of what faith a person follows," the message of the UN Secretary General reads.
As noted by Ban Ki-moon, the UN deeply appreciates the diversity and dialogue.
"Our alliance of civilizations is a leader in the global work on the rapprochement process and development of mutual understanding," Ban stresses.
