UN reps are not going to participate in the Lavor-Kerry meeting on Syria

The United Nations representative said on Monday that Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry would meet on January 13 to discuss Iran's role in the forthcoming Geneva-2 peace conference for Syria. Later, he told Itar-Tass that he did not know anything about the venue of the Lavrov-Kerry meeting, Kazinform has learnt from Itar-Tass. Last week, it was announced that the meeting would take place in Paris though neither the U.S. State Department nor the Russian Foreign Ministry have officially confirmed this information. The day before, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon sent out invitations to the participants in the Geneva-2 conference. The list consists of 30 countries but Iran is not among them.
