UN conference on social impacts of economic crisis to be held in Almaty

ALMATY. November 30. KAZINFORM. /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ UN conference entitled "Social Impacts of the Economic Crisis in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Turkey" will be held in Almaty on December 7-8.

The ministers of labor and social protection, specialists from finance, economy and agriculture ministries of 13 countries, experts of the UN, international and regional financial institutes, representatives of the international public organizations, employers and employees, civil society and regional scientific circles will take part in the conference.

Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and Assistant Secretary-General of United Nations, Director of the Regional Bureau of UNDP for Europe and CIS Kori Udovicki are expected to make speeches.

The forum will allow to exchange experience in stimulation of the region's recovery, reduction of social impacts of the crisis and formation of long-term strategies on overcoming the global financial-economic crisis.

The ministers of labor and social protection will hold a press conference on December 7.
