BEIJING. July 24. KAZINFORM -- All countries need to do more to combat the climate change, based on the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said Friday, according to Xinhua news agency.
Ban made the remarks at an event to launch a joint initiative on energy conservation between the United Nations and the Chinese government.
Ban, who is on the four-day visit to China, said he was "urging all countries to do what they can and must seal a deal" at the Climate Change Summit to be held in Copenhagen in December.
He said trust between developing and developed nations was essential if countries were to reach an agreed outcome at the summit.
Ban embarked on the Asian tour on Thursday, with China as his first stop. He will visit Mongolia on Sunday, Kazinform cites Xinhua.
