Ukraine’s Security Service identifies man who reported on bomb

Officers of Ukraine's Security Service have identified the man who made a telephone call to the police Thursday morning and said a bomb had ostensibly been planted along the route by which the motorcade of the country's newly elected President Viktor Yanukovich was to pass; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

The man said a bomb had been planted along the route from Kiev's famous Monastery of the Caves to the building of the Verkhovna Rada, the national parliament.

The man called himself a unit commander of the Army for People's Power.

Security Service operatives verified the information, after which a decision was taken to keep the motorcade's route unchanged.

At the time of reporting, the Security Service was making efforts to detain the man.

The ceremony of Viktor Yanukovich's inauguration took place Thursday morning. Prior to it, the new President attended a service at the Monastery of the Caves; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
