Ukraine’s opposition demands “reset of power”

KIEV. December 6. KAZINFORM Around 500,000 supporters of Ukraine's opposition gathered on Kiev's European Square demanding "a full rest of power"; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The opposition wanted to install a platform for public speaking, but law enforcers insist that protesters need a special permit from the Kiev city authorities.
Parliamentarians from Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defence and the Yulia Timoshenko Block joined the action.
Earlier business people protecting against the adoption of a new tax code planned to hold a countrywide action on Monday, but on December 3 they gave up the idea.
The tax code adopted by the Ukrainian parliament evoked mass protests all over the country, which forced President Viktor Yanukovich to veto the document. Soon after the tax code was redrafted, it was approved by the parliament and signed by the president. However, entrepreneurs continue their protects.
