Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan to jointly produce nuclear fuel - Yanukovych

KIEV-ASTANA. September 14. KAZINFORM Ukraine is ready to join the Russian-Kazakh project on production of fuel for nuclear power plants. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has made it public at a press conference after his talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Kiev; Kazinform has learnt from Ukrinform.

"We have agreed that Ukraine will be involved in developing of nuclear fuel production base. Kazakhstan and Russia have been developing this base for many years. Ukraine had no relation to this until today", V. Yanukovych said.

However, he informed of the preliminary agreement with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that each side - Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine - would have equal share (33%) in this project. The President emphasized that such direction of cooperation was very beneficial for all the three states.
