Ukraine expects to sign agreement on free trade area at CIS Summit in St. Petersburg

KAZINFORM /Aituar Mamlin/ Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov hopes that the CIS Summit of Heads of Government in St. Petersburg on October 18 will sign an agreement on the introduction of a comprehensive free trade area. He announced it at a meeting of the Economic Press Club.

"We expect that in St. Petersburg, we will sign an agreement establishing a free trade area. It is extremely important for us. After the introduction of the free trade area, we will get the opportunity to actively promote our products to the markets of CIS countries," Mykola Azarov told.

He emphasized that 40 percent of Ukrainian exports are directed to Russia and CIS countries.

He also noted that Ukraine is at the final stage of signing the Agreement on free trade area with the European Union.
