UAE-Kazakhstan trade has potential for steep increase

ABU DHABI. January 20. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan-UAE trade is currently valued at $300 million (Dh1,101 million), but has the potential to increase "several times" over the next few years given their close political ties, Aset Issekeshev, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, said yesterday.
"Our main exports to the UAE are food and agricultural products.
"We can increase this several times, mainly our wheat exports," Issekeshev told Gulf News on the sidelines of a media briefing.
Issekeshev was here on an official visit to promote the seventh World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), which is scheduled to be held in Astana from June 7-9.
The forum is expected to attract world leaders and industry experts to discuss economic opportunities in the region, Kazinform refers to Gulf News.
