Two people die and six injured by gas blast in Primorye

MOSCOW. March 5. KAZINFORM Two people died and six were injured as a result of the blast of household gas in the village of Vozdvizhenka, Primorye Territory, Itar-Tass learnt on Thursday from representative of the press service of the Far Eastern Regional Centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies Yekaterina Potvorova.
?Eight people were extricated from under debris during search and rescue operations. All of them were hospitalised. However, two people died later at hospital of injuries,? she specified.
According to Potvorova, work now continues to clear debris at the place of the accident, since people can be under the ruins.
The blast at the two-story house in Vozdvizhenka took place on Wednesday at 18.00. As a result of the explosion, six flats where 16 people were registered, were damaged.
At the same time, Itar-Tass learnt at the Primorye branch of the Ministry for Emergencies that three flats were destroyed, and the same number were damaged. ?Between six to eight people can remain under the debris,? the Primorye branch specified.
According to a representative of the territorial branch, gas cylinders supposedly detonated at one of the flats, Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
