The first blast occurred at 7 a.m. local time in Hameed Shihab village in Abu Graib area west of Baghdad, leaving 3 killed and 2 wounded, said the source on condition of anonymity.

After half an hour, another explosion rocked the east bank of the Tigris River in Baghdad, close to the Tahrir square, wounding four people, said the source, adding several shops and cars nearby were also damaged.

The U.S. forces last year have pulled out of Iraqi cities and are working to formally end combat operations by Sept. 1 of this year, cutting the U.S. military force from just under 90,000 to 50, 000. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version.
