TURKSOY should turn into ‘UNESCO’ of Turkic world – N. Nazarbayev

'I am convinced that this Summit will give a new impetus to institutionalization of the Turkic Council. We have the task of establishing the Secretariat of the Council, adopting document on the Council of Elders, developing common Turkic structures such as the Academy of Turkic World that is to start real work', N. Nazarbayev said.

The President reminded that Kazakhstan initiated establishment of the Academy of Turkic World last year. The Academy was opened in May in Astana. The Academy has an international status and it will be involved in exploring Turkic history and develop our common culture.

N. Nazarbayev called on all the organizations and all scientists interested in development of Turkic civilization to actively take part in the work of the Academy. He also reminded that the contribution of the TURKSOY was big in this sphere. In this regard the scope of the activity of this Organization should be expanded.
