Turkish President's official visit to Kazakhstan continues
Today he will have an official meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in Akorda.
A.Gul and N.Nazarbayev and businessmen of two countries will partake in the joint Business Forum which will be carried out in the Rixos Hotel. Over 300 companies of both countries specializing in such fields as construction and production of construction materials, agriculture, food industry, engineering, forestry, textile and manufacture of ready-made clothes, stock breeding, shipbuilding and petrochemistry are expected to participate in the forum.
Following the Forum a memorandum of cooperation is planned to be signed.
Besides, the heads of state will attend the 3rd National Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries on architecture and town planning in the Palace of Independence.
Turkey is the first country which recognized Kazakhstan's independence on December 16, 1991. It is one of the most important partners of Kazakhstan. In March, 1992 the Protocol on Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey was signed.
Bilateral trade-economic relations develop progressively and have a steady tendency for expansion. In 2008 mutual foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey made up USD 3 bln, in 2009 it decreased to USD 1.4 bln in connection with the world crisis.
About 1,400 enterprises are functioning in Kazakhstan in the sphere of construction, agriculture, metallurgy, oil and gas today. The Turkish companies took active part in construction of Astana.
