Turkic-Speaking States foreign ministers meet in Gabala
The meeting of the foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan is being held on the eve of the III Summit of Heads of Turkic-Speaking States due to take place on Friday.
In his speech Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov touched upon a wide range of issues of the international agenda, highly estimated the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States and especially emphasized the importance of initiatives being implemented within the Council's activity.
The head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry also asked his counterparts to support Kazakhstan's candidacy as a non permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018.
In addition, Minister Idrissov had a bilateral meeting with his Kyrgyz colleague Abdyldayev during which the sides discussed a spectrum of issues of bilateral cooperation.
At the foreign ministers meeting there were also considered issues of strengthening cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries in various spheres. The event was crowned with the signing of the Protocol of Cooperation between the CCTSS foreign ministries.
