Turkey marks Kazakhstan's Independence Day

ASTANA. December 11. KAZINFORM A number of official and cultural events were organized in Ankara (Turkey) on the threshold of the Independence Day of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in this country, the Turkish guests enjoyed a concert with the participation of Kazakh masters of art, an exposition of the paintings by modern Kazakh artists, a photo-exposition about Kazakhstan and a show of Symbat Fashion House.

Welcoming the guests Kazakhstan Ambassador Zhansseit Tuimebayev said the achievements of our country reached in 19 years under the leadership of Nursultan Nazarbayev were great. "Due to wise policy of the Leader of Kazakhstan we could form a multi-national society with dynamically developing economy", he noted.

Having characterized Kazakhstan as an initiator of important foreign-policy ideas like the CICA, the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the Turkic Council, the Turkic Academy, the Council of Elders of the Turkic-Speaking Countries, the Kazakh Ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan greatly contributed to ensuring regional and global security.

The event participants were informed of the results of Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship and success of the OSCE Summit in Astana held December 1-2, 2010. Zh. Tuimebayev reminded also of Kazakhstan's oncoming chairmanship in the Organization for Islamic Conference.

The Ambassador noted also dynamic development of bilateral cooperation of Kazakhstan and Turkey in all spheres, having stressed that Turkey had been among the first to recognize independence of our country in early 90s.
