Tskhinval remembers August 2008 tragedy victims

TSKHINVAL. August 8. KAZINFORM People in Tskhinval lit candles half an hour before midnight Friday to remember the victims of the August 2008 armed conflict in South Ossetia, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The event called Commemoration Candle began with a bell peal, followed by a video recording of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili's address of a year ago in which he assured South Ossetia of his good will and which preceded the Georgian aggression.
Then the screen was filled with wartime chronicles to the accompaniment of mourning music in Tskhinval's Theatre Square lit with burning candles.
According to preliminary estimates, over 2,000 people have come to the square. The event will continue till morning, Kazinform cites Itar-Tass. See www.itar-tass.com for full version.
