Trump and Zelensky engaged in a disagreement, following which the  US President stated that this was the least of the issues and the "two percent" of the necessary actions.

Meanwhile, Zelensky maintained that a ceasefire would be unsuccessful due to Putin's animosity toward Ukraine. Therefore, Ukraine was unable to implement a ceasefire due to the absence of security guarantees.

Trump asserted his mission, stressing that he would act only in the interests of the United States. "I do not support Putin; I do not support anyone. I support the United States of America," he said.

After the meeting, Trump took to Truth Social to share his perspective, stating, “We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

After the meeting, a White House official has verified that the joint news conference scheduled for Friday between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Donald Trump will not be held.

Earlier, it was reported that U.S. President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.  Later, Trump announced that Ukraine should hold elections, emphasizing concerns about the country’s current leadership.
