Tremors felt near CPC facilities in Russia's Krasnodar region
On January 24, 2024, Krasnodar Municipality, Goryachiy Klyuch and Seversky District in Russia’s Krasnodar region felt tremors from a seismic event, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the CPC press service.
At 02:19 pm on 24 January 2024, the seismic station in Obninsk (located 28 kilometers southwest of Krasnodar, 11 kilometers northwest of Iljsky settlement) registered a seismic event measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, with the intensity of 4 points, at a depth of 10 km in Krasnodar region, regional emergencies authorities say.
Five facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium are located in Krasnodar region: Kropotkin PS, PS-7, PS-8, Tank Farm and Marine Terminal. The PS-7 Pump Station is located 30 km away from Krasnodar Municipality.
No damages were detected on the line pipe and oil transportation facilities, and no casualties were reported, a preliminary inspection showed. The facilities operate in a routine mode, there is no threat to community and environment.
As reported, in 2023, more than 63 million tons of oil were transported by the CPC system.
In 2024, the CPC plans to transport more than 70 million tons of oil.
