Treasures of nomadic civilization on display in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - "Millenniums around Astana" festival is held in Kazakhstan's capital every year. This is an ancient town, where guests can see treasures of the nomadic civilization. Preparations for the 7th festival has started a month ago: concert stages have been erected, where the variety of Turkic traditional musical heritage will be shown, bright decorations, yurts, and folk art items have been installed.

Stuntmen from the cities of Almaty and Astana and Kyrgyzstan are expected to participate in a spectacular show within the framework of the festival. Different shows, competitions and performances will be held under a huge tent with a capacity of up to 1000 people as well. Construction of the ethno-aul will be completed by the end of this month. The festival is aimed at promoting Turkic art, it tells about nomads, their life, sports, clothing, and weapons. Performers from over 15 countries are set to partake in the event. Astana residents will have an opportunity to dive into the history of nomads. All guests will be able to take part in different national games, workshops and make a household item. The festival will be held from 4 through 7 of July.
