Transport Minister meets with foreign delegations in Almaty

KAZINFORM. /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ As part of the 5th Euro-Asian Transport Conference Kazakh Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abelgazy Kussainov has held a number of working meetings with the heads of transport departments and delegations of Slovakia, Georgia, Jordan, Afghanistan and Brazilian company ?Embraer? in Almaty today.

The main issues of the discussion at the meetings were the prospects of cooperation in the transport sphere. As reported earlier, the 5th Euro-Asian Transport Conference devoted to revival of the Silk Road is held by the International Union of Automobile Transport under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Kazakhstan in Almaty on June 11-12. The purposes of the forum are to develop proposals and recommendations on further development of international highway service on Eurasian continent, activate work on unification and harmonization of the correspondent legislation in the member states, simplify a border crossing procedure, coordinate the tariff policy and etc. Within the Transport Strategy Kazakhstan consistently develops the transit through its territory. Among the most priority projects is ?Western Europe ? Western China? transport corridor. It represents an investment space for attraction and participation of international financial institutes, industrial companies and international transit providers. The conference will be finished with signing of the Almaty declaration on coordination of actions of the participants of the Silk Road revival project.
