Transition to green economy to create 500 000 jobs in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. June 5. KAZINFORM Development of a green economy in Kazakhstan will create more than 500 thousand jobs.
Kazakhstan's Minister of Environmental Protection Nurlan Kapparov has announced it at a press briefing of the Central Communications Service in Astana today.
In his words, the implementation of the Concept of the transition to the green economy will allow to increase country's GDP for 3% by 2050, create new sectors of industry and services, and ensure high living standards for the population.
In general, the volume of investments required to make a smooth transition to the green economy in Kazakhstan is expected to account for 1 percent of GDP annually or $3-4 billion per year.
