Traffic resumes on Trans-Caucasian road

VLADIKAVKAZ. January 26. KAZINFORM. Traffic on the Trans-Caucasian road resumed at 6:00 p.m. Moscow time on Tuesday, as a number of avalanches were sent down and the road was cleared of snow, Yulia Starchenko from the North Ossetian Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass.

Several dozens of avalanches or more than 1,000 cubic meters of snow were forced down on Tuesday, she said. "Three avalanches hit the road, and more than 300 cubic meters of snow had to be removed," she said.

The weather stabilized in the evening, and traffic resumed on the road connecting Russia and the South Caucasus; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
