Trade turnover between Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan for 6 months increases to $ 1.6 bln
Bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are developing dynamically and in a spirit of equal partnership. "The high level of collaboration between the two countries reflect the agreements reached during a number of meetings at various levels. In particular, the strong impetus of the Kazakh-Uzbek partnership resulted in the official visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov, in December last year, the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov and 12th and 13th meetings of the intergovernmental commission for bilateral cooperation which held in Tashkent and Astana", said Turehanov.
The official visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev to Tashkent took place on 13-14 June the current year during which the two leaders emphasized their commitment to further deepen all-round cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The parties signed a strategic partnership agreement which became truly historic event for the states.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation is developing very actively. Evidence of that was the organization of a number of events including a week of Kazakh cinema in Uzbekistan, signing of inter-agency cooperation programs in the field of culture for 2013-2015.
In Tashkent there was opened the monument to the great Kazakh poet, philosopher and educator Abai Kunanbayev as well as a new building of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan.
