ASTANA. August 7. KAZINFORM Tourists are recommended not to travel to China due to the pneumonic plague outbreak reported in the Chinese province of Qinghai, the Kamchatka regional department of the Russian federal consumer rights protection and human health control service told reporters on Friday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The recommendations are sent to all the local travel agencies that organise tours abroad for Kamchatka residents.
Kamchatka has no direct air link to China, but traveling to the country becomes more and more popular among peninsula residents. At present, it is not safe, and tourists should refrain from visiting the country, the health control service believes; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
