Tokayev proposes to bring Kazakh-Mongolian trade turnover to up to $500mln
Presidents of Kazakhstan and Mongolia Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh held talks with the participation of the members of the official delegations, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.

During the talks, the Kazakh President commended the results of the restricted-format meeting and outlined the priority areas to further promote interstate relations with Mongolia.
Kazakh and Mongolian peoples are the inheritors of the Great Steppe civilization. Our relations enter the new level of strategic partnership, which meets the interests of both countries. Kazakhstan has a great respect for the Mongolian people and always rejoices for the achievements of your country. Currently, upon your initiative, the large-scale political and economic and social reforms are underway. Key programs such as Vision-2050, Food Supply and Security and Healthy Mongolian programs are under implementation, said Tokayev.
The Kazakh leader also recalled that the two countries enjoy close interparliamentary and intergovernmental ties, with a huge potential is yet to be tapped into for greater cooperation.
It's necessary to boost interaction in fields of trade and economy, agriculture, transport and logistics, mining, industry, investment, new technology and space research. I’m convinced that the documents set to be signed today will give a new impetus to the development of political and economic relations, said the Kazakh President, stressing the importance of timely and quality relations of the agreements reached between the governments of both countries.
Speaking about cultural and humanitarian contacts, Head of State Tokayev thanked Mongolian athletes for their participation in the World Nomad Games held in the Kazakh capital of Astana.
The Kazakh leader confirmed the readiness to increase the quota for Mongolian students studying in Kazakhstan and urged to promote joint studies of the common historic heritage.
In addition, opportunities opening up for joint work in ecological, historic, ethnographic and economic tourism were noted.
Kazakhstani tour operators are ready to familiarize Mongolian tourists with the ancient city of Turkestan, where the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is located, and Ulytau region, where the Mausoleum of Jochi Khan, the elder son of Genghis Khan, is located, as well as other tourist sites. We’re interested in developing the Altai tourist cluster jointly with Mongolia, creating joint tourist routes, stated the Head of State.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan next year.
For his part, the Mongolian President confirmed the interest of Mongolia in enhancing ties with Kazakhstan in a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
He expressed confidence that the agreements to be signed today will open a new milestone in relations between the two nations.
The Mongolian President called Kazakhstan as the key partner of his country and a reliable bridge between East and West. According to him, Ulaanbaatar closely examines the experience of Kazakhstan in developing the economy and attaches great attention to the efficient realization of bilateral projects in trade, transport and logistics, agriculture, space research. In particular, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh supported the proposal of Tokayev to bring the bilateral trade turnover to up to 500 million US dollars.
