The Head of State noted that last year was successful for the country. Nevertheless, he urged to make necessary decisions for the country’s development, as he believes there are many unresolved issues to be addressed.

Tokayev called on the government and governors to radically upgrade approaches to their work in implementing the new economic course. He stated the need for new ideas and systemic long-term vision for the economy, calling to accelerate growth, actively diversify the economy, and attract more foreign investments.

One of the main tasks of the government is to ensure equal conditions for all economic subjects. The government needs to establish meaningful partnership with entrepreneurs and investors to give a new impetus to the economy. It is necessary to significantly increase the efficiency and synergy in the work of the state apparatus. It’s time to end formality, bureaucratic red tape. Such barbaric practice undermines peoples’ faith in reforms and formation of Just Kazakhstan, said the Kazakh President during the government session, adding that work needs to be done without waiting for orders from top, peoples’ complaints or till the situation went wrong.

Tokayev went on to say that today the entire world is going through a very difficult historic period, which defines states’ development direction for many years ahead.

We must keep abreast of the times, move quickly and decisively. Instead of wasting time on empty words, it is necessary to do specific action and exercise political responsibility. We need to seize every opportunity so as not to fall behind in the global competition race…The government received sufficient powers. Use these opportunities in full; make quick necessary decisions. The government needs to proceed without delay with the realization of the tasks set. In general, radical reforms are needed in each sphere of the economy, concluded Tokayev.
