Three militants killed in police operations in eastern Tajikistan

DUSHANBE. October 18. KAZINFORM Three militants were killed in police operations in the Tajik eastern Rasht region in the past two days, the Tajik Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Sunday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The ministry said that the operations were held in the Komarob Gorge, 20 kilometers away from Rasht.
One of the militants from the group of former opposition field commander Mullo Abdullo was trained as a demolition expert in Afghanistan. All the three militants were born in the Rasht region.
Militants who surrender on guarantee of President Emomali Rakhmon are exempt from prosecution and render assistance to servicemen searching for illegal armed groups. The number of surrendered militants are yet unknown.
The operations started on September 22.
