Three killed in road accident in Almaty region

Three people died as a result of collision of two cars on the 36th kilometer of the Talgar-Yessik highway in Almaty region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
A video of the accident became viral in social media.
According to the local police department, the accident occurred when a driver of Zeekr 001 moved to the oncoming lane and smashed into Daewoo Matiz.
“Two passengers of Daewoo Matiz died on the scene, while its driver died in an intensive care unit of a district hospital. A criminal case was launched. The driver of Zeekr 001 was taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing,” the police department said.
