The World Military Boxing Championship ends in Kazakhstan

The tournament was dedicated to the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the First Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, General of the Army Sagadat Nurmagambetov, Xinhua reports. The finals of 10 categories were held Tuesday. In total seven boxers representing Kazakhstan including Olzhas Bayniyazov (up to 49kg), Olzhas Sattibaev (up to 52kg), world bronze medalist Kairat Yeraliyev (up to 56kg), Bekman Soylybaev (up to 60kg), Bobirzhon Mominov (up 75kg), Askar Abdullayev (up to 91kg) and Kamshybek Konkabaev (over 91kg) became champions. In addition, Baatarsukh Chinzorig (up to 64kg) of Mongolia, Frenchman Alexis Vastine (up to 69kg) and Peter Mullerberg (81kg) of the Netherlands also became gold medalists of the tournament. The competition was attended by boxers from more than 25 countries and regions. The championship was held in Kazakhstan due to significant achievements of Kazakh army sportsmen. Nurmagambetov died on the age of 90 in September 2013 in Almaty.
