“The Sun Trip”: on the way towards “Astana EXPO-2017” participants gather in Astana on Day of Sports

The bike ride started on June 15, in Savoy (France) involving 33 sportsmen. On August 17 all these travellers, who have come to the finish line, will gather again to greet the city of the International Specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 on their bikes with electric motors charging from a solar battery. Let us recall that from 15 to 18 of August Astana will host the range of large-scale mass events dedicated to the Day of Sports.

Within the framework of the Presidential mile races will start, and all people who want to can take part here. There will be two races - for 800 metres for children and teenagers aged 13-16 years, and a race for 2400 metres for lads and girls, adults and pensioners. On sport grounds of Astana there will be tournaments in arena football, competitions for children and parents “Merry starts”, exhibition tennis performances, there will be finals of amateur league in basketball outdoors in Samal microdistrict.

In addition, on these days residents and guests of the capital can visit sport objects of the city within the framework of the Doors Open Day. As it is known, each third Sunday of August in Kazakhstan is celebrated as a professional day of physical education workers. Main events in the capital are to be held on August 17 on the square near Bayterek monument.
