The Netherlands extends cooperation with Atyrau region

ATYRAU. October 8. KAZINFORM. /Andrei Sokolov/ Atyrau region of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands plan to establish cooperation in fisheries, agriculture and vocational training. It is the outcome of the meeting of First Deputy Akim of the region Bolat Daukenov with Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Maria van der Hoeven who paid a visit to Atyrau.

Atyrau region and the Netherlands have old ties. 30 companies with Dutch capital operate in the region. According to B. Daukenov, they are mostly the oil and gas companies. "But we would like to strengthen and develop cooperation in other branches of economy, including servicing, agriculture, fisheries, building of windmills", he noted.

"I full agree that Kazakhstan as a whole and in particular Atyrau region has a big potential for development. We should search for new ways for expansion of cooperation, first of all in agriculture and fisheries where the Netherlands has a big experience", Mrs. Maria van der Hoeven said. She informed that the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kazakh Industry and Trade Ministry.
