"Gross inflow of direct investments into Kazakhstan made above USD 24 bln in 2013. All this bespeaks for integrating our efforts to ensure modernization of the national economies and raising their competitive strength in the world markets," he added. Another highlight is expanding opportunities of Kazakhstan's economy within the EEU. The nations will enjoy the common markets of oil and oil products, gas, electricity, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. The country's sales with Russia and Belarus are growing too. Last year it hit more than USD 20 bln. An immediate benefit is that the EEU will afford landlocked Kazakhstan access to transport and logistics and other pipeline systems of its member states. "Kazakhstan may also take advantages of its geostrategic position situated between the East and West to realize transport potential of the countries estimated now at USD 1 bln," he resumed.
