Texas university evacuated on bomb threat

The threat against Texas A&M University came just one day after Texas State University received a similar threat.

"The University has received a campus-wide bomb threat. We are asking all students, faculty, and staff to evacuate campus as quickly and as safely as possible by foot. Do not use a vehicle at this time. This evacuation is effective immediately until further notice," read an alert posted at 11:42 a.m. Friday on Texas A&M's website, Xinhua reported.

University spokesperson Lane Stephenson said the evacuation order was issued as a precaution.

Classes were canceled for the day.

Texas State University evacuated three buildings on its campus on Thursday, after an admissions counselor received a bomb threat targeting the university and reported to her supervisors.
