TEREKTY-AULIE PETROGLYPHS
It is mainly famous for petroglyphs dating back to the Bronze Age (2 000 years B.C.). These images show nomadic life, there are pictures devoted to hunting, wild animals and sun-worship plots. In Terekty-Aulie settlements of ancient people of Bronze and Stone Age were found as well as mazars and small metallic ore mines. A lot of legends of miraculous healing, magic springs and Muslim saints are connected with this place, that's why it is often visited by pilgrims and mystic-lovers of all kinds.
In 1951 scientist and academician Alkey Khakanuly Margulan made research works on the petroglyphs.
Scientists from Canada and Italy jointly with their counterparts from Kazakhstan carried out complex research works in Terekty-Aulie settlement as well as in Taldysay and Aibas-Darasy localities in 2000-2004.
The research works with foreign counterparts let carry out the research on the world level that gave some experience for archeologists of Zhezkazgan Historical and Archeological Museum.
